4 Benefit of Working In a Startup Company.
After my previous post on LinkedIn about commiting to helping new Product marketing professionals find their footing in the Tech industry, I received a lot of requests asking me to offer guidance on whether to start off a career working on Big Tech or with a Startup and I thought it would be helpful to summarize my take on this mater.
I recall facing a pivotal career decision between two job offers: one from a tech startup and another from a prominent tech company. Despite the challenges that come with working at a startup, I chose the startup based on the specific goal I aimed to achieve at that time. Although there were moments when I wished I had accepted the big tech company’s offer because the startup experience brought its own set of challenges, but my goal kept me motivated.
It’s no secret that the appeal of working with startups has grown substantially among job seekers and professionals seeking dynamic and impactful career opportunities. Startups create an environment characterized by innovation, agility, and rapid growth, offering unparalleled advantages that can propel individuals towards remarkable advancements in their careers, professional development, skills, and financial growth.
Accelerated Career Growth:
Startups provide a fertile ground for rapid career progression. In a startup, the hierarchical structures found in larger organizations are often less rigid, allowing employees to take on greater responsibilities and make significant contributions from an early stage. It’s worth mentioning that not all start-ups offer stock options or equity, although, as the startup grow and secure funding, there may be opportunities for salary increases, bonuses, and other financial incentives.
